Today was my day to find the beach and so I did. I started off this morning walking toward the water and first discovered Port Vell......lots of water and boats but alas no beach. It was a bit of a hike but I finally got myself out of the port and on a path for the beach. I have to admit the beach is not the prettiest one I have ever seen but it may be one of the coolest. I stopped at one of these great little beach shacks they have right on the sand for lunch and discovered lemonade beer.......by far one of the best beers I have ever had. They are 60% beer and 40% lemonade, so refreshing!! The waiter claimed they are very popular here but this was the first time I had seen them advertised. I walked home the long way and discovered a couple of new neighborhoods and a city park with lots of little green parrots. After almost 5 hours of being out and about I was approaching home somewhat tired after all my walking when what do I see but a sound stage being set up right behind my building. It appears we are having a big festival here tonight celebrating the 'flame of the night' but I don't have the meaning of all of that completely figured out yet. I don't think there will be much sleeping for me tonight.........but then you know how much I love a good street party!!
